The cold and flu season is upon us. How do you protect yourself and those around you? Unfortunately, Vitamin C won't cure your cold but you can prevent or lower your risk of becoming sick by staying healthy before the cold and flu season.
You can still enjoy your glass of orange juice but that freshly-squeezed OJ isn't a miracle cure for colds.
The changes in weather play a role in disrupting what your body is used to. These changes would hit the body harder if your body isn't ready for it, so staying on top of your health is always a priority.
Of course, there are a few things you should keep consistent throughout the year: eating healthy foods, practicing good hygiene, getting enough quality sleep, and staying hydrated. These are usually the cure for colds but they are also great for prevention. When you are sick, give your body a rest so your immune system can do its work.
Other things that can help boost your bodily functions (and should be kept consistent throughout the year as well) include: exercising regularly, getting some sunlight, and reducing stress.
